Thanksgiving Adventures!

Our Thanksgiving weekend went by way too fast! Jason got off of night shifts on Wednesday morning. So I waited for him to get up before we headed to his parent's house in Alamo. Will I was being patient (which I am not good at) I made an apron to wear on Thanksgiving day and a turkey shirt for Jaylee to wear! We didn't get out of Battle Mountain until 6pm. I was very irritable and frustrated that we were leaving so late, but oh well life goes on! We arrived a little after 10pm. It was an eventful night and I didn't get much sleep.
Thanksgiving day arrived and I made deviled eggs and yams. I love yams and I wanted to make them, they turned out pretty good. After a very delicious Thanksgiving dinner we got ready to take family pictures. Of course Jason decided not to be very cooperative. He laid done to take a nap and I tried to wake him up for 30 minutes. He decided that 2 minutes before we were suppose to leave to get up. He changed his shirt and threw a hat on! I was so annoyed, but whatever we haven't had a family picture since Jaylee was born and so at this point I was just thankful that we were getting them done. The girl that took them, Lynette was amazing! I felt bad that she had to deal with such a grouchy family. She has a few of the pictures posted on her website. To see them click here . I can't wait to see the rest of them.
On Black Friday Jason and I were going to go shopping, but I decided it needed to be craft day instead. I brought stuff for my two sister in laws and my mother in law. We made countdown blocks and muffin tin count downs. They are turned out so cute! I played around on my MIL's cricket expression all day! I had a great time!
Saturday was my 27th birthday! I have decided that I am not going to have anymore birthdays! It always seems like it is the worst day of the year for me, so I am going to skip right over it from now on. We drove home on Saturday and Jason took me out for dinner while my parents watched the kids. I decided to skip church and stay home with Jaylee. I usually never ditch church, but I was so excited to get my Christmas decorations out. I didn't get much accomplished, but the tree is up and Brock and I are going to decorate it tonight.
Few...so that is how our Thanksgiving weekend went!

Oh I forgot to post some of my cute crafts I made for Thanksgivng!

What's Going On?

This past weekend my sister, Steph blessed her sweet little girl, Savannah! My grandparents from Idaho came as well as my aunt Lynn, uncle Kenny, and uncle Al. My aunt Lynn made the blessing dress and it was beautiful! I don't have any pictures on my camera, so I will have to post some when I get them from Steph.
Not last weekend but the weekend before I went to Reno to see the musical "CATS"! There are 7 co-workers and myself that have season tickets to 6 musicals. I am so excited! I took Steph, Savannah, and Jaylee with me. We went shopping and stayed the night at my aunt Juanita's house. The play was so good, except I had this lady sitting two rows behind me that thought we were at nascar or something. She would clap and scream through the whole thing at very inappropriate times. She also knew every word of the play. Everyone around her was covering their ears and glaring at her. I finally could not take it anymore and I turned around and asked her to be quite! Well she didn't hear me, because she was screaming again. This scream was not just a whoo hoo, it was a screeching hurt your ear drums screech! She was so annoying and I went and complained to the head guy after it was over, because the woman jetted out of there before I could tell her how rude of a person she was! I just can't stand people who are so inconsiderate of other people!
Well enough about the obnoxious lady! I have been crafting like crazy the past couple of weeks. My friend Sady and I have been making the cutest things. I don't have pictures of some of them, bit I will post them later. Also some of the crafts are hard to take a picture of, but here they are anyway.
Welcome board danglers (I do a new set monthly) Welcome wreath (another one done monthly)
GIVE THANKS blocks (yes another one done monthly)

This banner says,"HARVEST" it is made out of scrap booking supplies and hangs across my window. (Sorry it isn't a very good picture) I also did one that says, "AUTUMN" and "Time" and those hang across my two front living room windows.

My favorite crafts are yet to come! I need to take a picture of them. My SIL Ang gave me the idea to do a count down calender for Thanksgiving. She did all 30 days of the month and I did the 12 days of Thanksgiving! My favorite is a standing wood turkey! I will post these soon! I just want to add one last picture of Jaylee! She is getting so big!

Party Party Party!!!

The weekend before Halloween I attended a couple's dinner party. Our ward has a couple host a dinner party once a month. This month I took my friend Ashlee who is a member, but not active. Jason was working, so I decided to do a little missionary work! Our friends the Tingey's hosted the party this month. Let me give you a little background info on Sady the wife. I went to school with Sady, she is very spunky and is full of life. She is very decorative and loves going over the top! Needless to say she is hilarious and the party was so much fun! She gave out food assignments to everyone and they all were Halloween recipes.

mummy cupcakes

creepy carmel apples

Frightening fingers

Ghostly Enchiladas

My assignment was to make eyeballs from doughnut holes and white chocolate. Everyone did such a great job that I couldn't resist posting some pictures. After we ate we played charades. It was hilarious watching 2 pregnant girls act and of course Sady topped it off with trying to act like a cornucopia.

Now onto Halloween weekend! On Friday Jason and I went to a couples dance here in Battle Mountain. We dressed like an 80's couple! I am so glad that Jason was somewhat a sport about it. His idea of an 80's guy was way different from mine. Oh well at least he dressed up. We started out our date by going to dinner with the Tingey's. Josh and Jason serve in Elder's Quorum together. When we got to the dance we got pictures taken. There were some great costumes. The music wasn't the best, because the DJ likes a lot of Techno. I personally am not into techno. Jason and I did dance a little. Thanks to my mom for watching my kids. She was a trooper Jaylee didn't go to bed until 11:30pm. We picked her up about 12:20am and left Brock to sleep with grandma. I have decided after our date that we need to do it more often!
On Halloween our day was filled with a kid's party at my friend Tasha's house. She had fun Halloween treats and food for the kids. I brought the same eyeballs that I took to the couples party. The kids played games, frosted cookies, and make picture frames. After the party we walked around the neighborhood and let the kids trick or treat. Then it was off to the church to trunk or treat. It was a full day and after it was all said and done I had a very tired lady bug and football player.
